Made in New Zealand, with heart.

Kia ora — I'm Peter Karsten, the artist and writer behind The Chelsea Card Co. I create greeting cards and art cards inspired by the landscapes, characters, and spirit of Aotearoa New Zealand. Each design is drawn from the world around me — the light, the humour, the warmth of this place I call home.

The Cards

Every card in the Chelsea Card Co. range is designed to feel like something worth keeping. I work with distinctive NZ themes — from the quietly beautiful to the gently funny — and I put the same care into the words as I do the images. These aren't throwaway cards. They're made to be sent, displayed, and remembered.

All cards are printed on sustainable, archival-quality card stock, so the colours stay true and the card holds up long after it's been given. I believe a card should last as long as the moment it marks.

Big Hugs Publishing

Alongside the card range, I write and illustrate children's picture books and inspirational quote collections under the Big Hugs Publishing imprint. These books carry the same warmth and intention as the cards — stories and words that connect people and stay with them.
